Our team at Vetted knows just how essential it is to keep your little one active and comfortable as the years go by, and maintaining their hip and joint health is a wonderful way to do just that. 

Our dogs rely on their hips and joints to get them from place to place, so there will be quite a bit of pressure put on these structures over time. We want your little one to take each step with ease, which is why we put together a kit that promotes every aspect of joint and hip health!

The products in your kit will reduce joint inflammation, lubricate the joints, strengthen joint cartilage, and even protect them from future joint damage. Our team at Vetted wants you to feel confident with each use of your Hip and Joint Kit, so let’s break down each of the items in your kit below!

‍1TDC- Worksowell ‍

‍What is it?
‍Inflammation is incredibly damaging to any tissue it affects. Inflammation is one of the main causes of joint and cartilage breakdown over time, which is why we have included this impressive anti-inflammatory product in your kit. 

Each 1TDC heart-shaped capsule contains a combination of fatty acids that targets inflammation at the source. Fatty acids are believed to inhibit the enzymes that spark inflammation, so by offering your pup one heart shaped treat each day, you can say goodbye to any joint inflammation to come! 

Not only does the 1TDC capsule improve mobility and comfort in your little one, but it can also eliminate gum inflammation, promote skin and coat health, and even promote muscle recovery. This 4-in-1 treat is a must have for all pups!

You may have already seen the instructions for your 1TDC capsule in your dental kit, but the instructions are a bit different if you are only focused on mobility. We will break down both options below!

‍How to use it? ‍
‍For both joint and dental health: You will start by grabbing the heart-shaped capsule and twisting off the thin end at the bottom of the heart. You will then squeeze the paste from the capsule onto your finger, and then rub the paste across your dog’s gums. The recommended serving size is based on weight, so let’s list the doses below:

‍Under 25lbs: 1 every other day
‍26 to 50lbs: 1 per day
‍51 to 75lbs: 2 per day
‍76 to 100lbs: 2 per day
‍101 to 150 lbs: 3 per day

‍For joint health only: If you are just focusing on the mobility aspect of these treats, you can simply offer the entire capsule or the contents of the capsule by mouth to your pup (feed it to them like a treat). For dogs under 25 pounds you will give 1 capsule daily for 30 days, then switch to 1 capsule every other day for maintenance. If your dog is over 25 pounds, you will give them 2 capsules daily for 30 days, then 1 capsule daily for maintenance. 

‍Cosequin Topper‍

‍What is it?
‍Now that we have joint inflammation covered with the 1TDC capsules, it’s time to focus on strengthening the cartilage in your dog’s joints with a combination of impressive nutrients. Your Cosequin sprinkle capsule contains a variety of nutrients that work together to both protect and strengthen the cartilage within their hips and joints. 

The cartilage is what serves as a cushion for your dog’s joints with each step they take, so healthy cartilage helps to prevent joint grinding and break down in the future. Healthy joint cartilage can not only prevent painful grinding of the joints, but it can help to keep your pup flexible and active!

‍How to use it?
‍Anytime you are introducing a new joint supplement to your dog’s routine, there will always be a loading dose period to make sure those nutrients get into the joints and straight to work. The loading dose for this product is 4-6 weeks, so let’s break it down based on your dog’s weight below. Also keep in mind that you will be sprinkling the contents of these capsules into your dog’s food. 

‍‍10-24 pounds: 1 capsule daily (½ in the morning and ½ in the evening) for 4-6 weeks, and then ½ a capsule daily for maintenance

‍25-49 pounds: 2 capsules daily (1 in the morning and 1 at night) for 4-6 weeks, and then 1 capsule daily for maintenance

‍50-100 pounds: 3 capsules daily (2 in the morning and 1 at night) for 4-6 weeks, and then 1-2 capsules daily for maintenance based on how much your dog struggles with their joints

‍Over 100 pounds: 4 capsules daily (2 in the morning and 2 at night) for 4-6 weeks, and then 2 capsules daily for maintenance. 

‍Measuring Tape‍

‍What is it? We include measuring tape in each hip and joint kit so you can keep track of your dog’s waistline as the months go by! You can use the measurement tape by placing the tape measure around the most narrow part of your dog’s waist, which should be just in front of their hind legs. 

Weight gain can put additional stress on your dog’s joints, which ultimately can increase the risk of joint break down and disease over time. By measuring your dog’s waistline each month, you can immediately jump into action if your little one is putting on weight.

‍How to use it? 

‍Once you have the measurement of the waistline make sure to go into the Vetted app and include the measurement in your weekly check-in. This allows us to keep track of your pup’s weight for you. If you input your local vet’s information onto the app we will make sure to notify them periodically throughout the year to ensure that your pups weight is on track in between the annual vet visit!
